Key Accountabilities:
The Responsibilities of Construction Accountant are:
- Develop and manage construction budgets in collaboration with project managers and respective stakeholders.
- Monitor budgetary allocations and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
- To oversee the construction Accounts Payable process, including the accurate and timely processing of invoices.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth payment processing.
- Facilitate the construction loan draw process, ensuring compliance with project milestones and financial requisites.
- Coordinate with financial institutions to provide necessary documentation for loan disbursements.
- Manage the preparation and collection of lien waivers and releases from contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is in place to protect the project from potential legal encumbrances.
- Perform ongoing accounting duties, including the preparation of invoices, expense tracking, and cash flow estimation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting at various project stages.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all project-related finances for both internal and external auditing purposes.
- Prepare and organize financial documentation to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Monitor project financials and promptly report any identified risks or budgetary discrepancies to management.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations for addressing financial challenges.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related field. (Preferred ACCA/CA)
Professional Experience: Minimum 02 years of relevant experience in the Construction Industry (Building/Real Estate).
